Evaluation Question 1

Costume and props-I asked my models to where cool sort of indie looking clothing as it’s a stereotype that rock stars don’t care about what people think about them, therefore I went with the conventions on this photo.

 

Mise en scene-In one of the photos I got my model to hold a guitar as it’s very stereotypical of a rock star to be holding a guitar, therefore I went with the conventions in this photo.

Title-When I conducted research into rock magazines I noticed that a lot of them were plain and simple such as black or whit therefore I chose to go against conventions and have an alternate colour scheme to make my magazine stand out from the rest.     

 

 

Writing content-the content in my magazine goes with the conventions of media as the first letter in my DPS is larger than the rest and the first couple of the lines are a little bit bigger than the rest of it is the same size. This is to attract the readers into the article.

 

Title font and style-my title is in an alternate colour scheme to go against the conventions of media, this makes it stand out from the rest of the magazines in this genre. It’s in an formal style as my main target audience is formal.

People-My models were generally easy to access as they were all sixth form students. I particular chose young people as there have been an increase in young fans of rock. 

Music genre and how my magazine suggests it- my music genre is rock/metal and one way my magazine suggests this is the groups and bands that are presented in this magazine such as ACDC and Kiss.

Contents- my contents page has changed a little bit from my original plans as it did not look good. I had a lot of open space in the draft so I added another picture and some more features. The pictures and the text are diagonally opposite each other as it is something different. The colour scheme matches the whole of the magazine.

Layout- the layout of the magazine goes with the conventions of media as things like the masthead, title etc. are all in the correct place. My layout of DPS is different to the usual layout as my image stretches over both pages. My contents are even more different as the images and text are opposite each other diagonally.
